In observation of Labor Day and weekend, the library will be closed from Saturday, September 5th through Monday, September 7th. 


 To better serve the community, the Berne Public Library has

changed its hours of operation.

The new hours will be:

Monday: 10:00 a.m-8:00 p.m.

Tuesday: 10:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m.

Wednesday: 10:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m.

Thursday: 10:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m.

Friday: 10:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m.

Saturday: 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.

Closed Sunday

The Heritage Room also has new hours:

Monday: 12:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m.

Tuesday-Friday: 12:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m.

Saturday: 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.

Morning appointments may be requested as needed.  


Book Club

Interactive activities, discussion and snacks.

Sign-up upstairs at the main desk beginning in September.

  Receive your book, provided by the Adams County Community Foundation, at the first meeting on October 8th.

Little House on the Prairie by Laura Ingalls Wilder

Thursdays at 4:00 p.m., September 3rd - October 8th

- Grades K-3 and accompanying adult

Esperanza Rising by Pam Munoz Ryan

Mondays at 4:00 p.m., September 14th through October 5th

- Boys and girls in grades 4 & 5

- Great snacks each week!
 

Registration is necessary for each group.  Call 589-2809 or stop by the library.  The Adams County Community Foundation is providing a book each child can keep.


Fall Story Times

September 14 through November 20

Preschool (ages 3 and up): Mondays or Tuesdays at 11:00 a.m.

Wee Read (ages 18-36 months): Mondays or Tuesdays at 10:00 a.m.

Infants (ages birth to 18 mo.): Fridays at 10:30 a.m.

Registration is necessary for all programs.

Preschool Play Mornings

Mondays from 10:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

July 20th - August 31st

Informal gathering of preschoolers and their parents.  Toys and a simple activity will be provided.  Regular structured story times will resume in September.

            Any two-week item can now be checked out for three weeks and can only be renewed one time for an additional three weeks. 

New books and DVDs will still check out for one week and are non-renewable.
